This Expedition Radio Kit combines our powerful 5-watt GMRS radio with the versatile Waterproof Hand Mic—built for all-weather communication in the backcountry.
The Expedition Radio is hand-tested to IP67 waterproofing standards (1 meter submersion) and designed with protective rubber padding and a shatterproof LED screen. A specialized 1800 mAh battery provides 4–6 days of use per charge, even in frigid conditions. With 5 watts of power—the maximum allowed for handheld GMRS radios—the radio delivers extended range up to 35+ miles (typically 2–8 miles in mountain terrain).
The Waterproof Hand Mic makes communication faster and more convenient. Clip it to your pack strap for shoulder-level access to a built-in mic, speaker, and push-to-talk button. The hand mic is IP67 waterproof, glove-friendly, and designed to reduce wind noise while delivering loud, clear audio in challenging conditions.
